John was born in Idaho. After 20 years of living in Idaho, Oregon and Washington he joined the US Army where he served two tours in Vietnam. In 1968 he moved to Sonoma County and worked at Idaco, a local sawmill in Healdsburg. In 1969 he married a local girl, Sharon Smithers. In 1972 John left the mill and became an insurance agent. At the same time he attended the Santa Rosa Junior College and Sonoma State University. In 1984 he joined with Ernie Gondola in the Gondola-Kinne Insurance Agency. John has and Sharon have two sons, Jeffrey and Darrin and three grandchildren.
I grew up in Healdsburg and have worked for Gondola-Kinne Insurance Agency for over ten years. After graduating from Healdsburg High I began working at the agency and I worked my way through college. Yes, I started at the bottom: filing, answering phones, claims service, data entry, etc. After graduating from Sonoma State University with a degree in Human Development, Magna Cum-Laude, I decided to expand my insurance career and obtain my property and casualty insurance license. Starting at the bottom allowed me to build a firm understanding of the insurance industry from personal lines accounts to larger commercial lines policies. I am dedicated to outstanding customer service and understanding my clients individual insurance needs. As a native Healdsburg resident I feel it is important to be an active member of my community, so I am a member of the Soroptimists and Active 20-30 clubs of Healdsburg. In my free time I enjoy volunteering, exercising, running, hiking, riding my bike and spending time with my three dogs
Born and raised in Sonoma County Darrin graduated from Cardinal Newman High School and then Sonoma State University with a degree in Business Management. After graduation Darrin left our fair county and embarked on a career in the corporate world in Southern California for an International Logistics Company. When the realization hit how much more fulfilling life was in the Northern part of the state, Darrin studied the nights away and earned his insurance license. Darrin then moved back up north with his finance and golden retriever to collaborate with his father in the family business, "Gondola-Kinne."
New to the business, Darrin is driven to learn all there is to know about the products that the office offers. Darrin has shown drive and enthusiasm to give each one of our customers the attention and service that they desire. "Customer service is the back bone of our company, and it is the relationships that we share with our customers that makes our job great."
Darrin now spends much of his time volunteering at the Sonoma County Sheriffs office, as a member of the Search & Rescue Team. When he is not training, or at work, Darrin can be found exercising his 2 year old Golden Retriever “Kona.”
